How is Yuka funded?

Yuka is a 100% independent app that receives absolutely no funding from brands or manufacturers. No one can influence our evaluations or recommendations.

Our funding comes from the Premium version of the app, which gives access to extra features:

• A search bar, so you can look up any product without scanning it. 
• An offline mode, so you can scan items even without cell coverage at the store.
• Custom alerts, allowing you to set notifications based on your preferences and dietary restrictions: palm oil, gluten, vegetarian, etc.

As for the YukaCoin—unfortunately, it doesn’t exist… Though we would have loved to create a virtual currency featuring our little carrot. 🙃
