Since the enzyme Lactose is already digested by yhe bacteria in yogurt, you really don’t have to worry about the Lactose. If your problem is another enzyme I am not sure about that. I am Lactose intolerant a d never have a problem with greek yogurt. I worked in the dairy industry gor 27 years

I am not surprised to see Costco’s brand in the top spot. It’s a larger container than any other brand for about the same price and it tastes…like plain non-fat Greek yogurt. I follow a diet that focuses on high protein for muscle development and I go through a lot of non-fat Greek yogurt. It’s hard to beat Kirkland on this one.

Interesting reviews. But I’m another of your readers who is WFPB. Before I chose this way of eating about one year ago, I ate yogurt almost daily for years. I do miss it. The reader who wrote the anti-non-dairy yogurt comment may be right. I’ve never explored the topic nor have I tried plant based yogurt. It doesn’t seem like it could make the Whole Food cut. Plant based yogurts aren’t even natural or real yogurt. They are made with thickeners and added sweeteners to pretend to be real. I thought the point of Yuka was to present the best wholesome natural products. Yes plant based yogurt is better than a candy bar. However, I have never seen a coconut or other plant that is commonly Frankensteined into imitating yogurt that naturally ferments into a drinkable or edible product like yogurt on its own.

Curse the bigbox vibe, that’s cool, but the Macadamia nuts and the no-added sugar protein bars (chocolate, cookie dough, pnut butter, something else) are ultra, too. Too bad they’re so good.

0% non milk means there is no fat in milk. However, the amount of protein and nutrients stays the same. FYI- whole milk has about 3.5% fat, thus more calories than 0% or skim milk.

  68. Mark

I would stay away from Chobani. I live in Southern Idaho where the Turk makes most of this product. Chobani buys milk from local mostly Dutch owned dairies. Dairies here typically consist of CAFO’s, contained animal feedlot operations. Many dairies here consist of ten or even fifteen thousand Holstein all piled into large corrals or semi-enclosed slatted wash floor operations. They feed combinate diets consisting of corn sileage, alfalfa, cotton-seed, ground corn, sugar beet pulp, some potato plant offerings, soda to reduce acidity, and nutritional supplements. May have left out a few, but the corn sileage and corn grain are both Roundup Ready and I don’t know about the rest. Their demand on limited water resources, extensive manure handling problems that ultimately affect the underground water purity and “nitrates,” the resulting air quality, fly production, and general health of the environment result in an impressive assault on this once pure farming environment. Chobani is the winner for making their products from these sources.

Try the A2 whole milk yogurt, my kids do well with that, and with the A2 milk, cream cheese, sour cream, etc. I like Bellwether Farms – also at Costco. Also Alexandre Valley, Nancy’s, etc. A lot of people don’t tolerate A1 milk proteins well, but that’s not the same as lactose intolerance. If it’s a lactose deficiency, raw milk works for some people. But it turns out my kids (all European genetics) weren’t lactose intolerant, they just had digestive problems from the A1 protein, but they’re fine with A2.
