Confused. Your list Bare Pure Clean Head & Shoulders here as excellent. But, when I scan mine with your Yuka app it says; Bad 20/100. Why this discrepancy?
How do i go about buying some of the products?
You can find a lot of them in Ocado
Wonderful informative information
How about Aveeno shampoo and conditioner?
Thank you so much for posting these recommendations. Could you do the same for hair conditioners please? Yuka is a fabulous app, highly informative.
Brilliant, great help!

This information is imperative in todays world Yuka is fantastic it’s opened my eyes to do much if the rubbish that we pay for . Keep up the good work keep shouting
Can you recommend a shampoo for colour treated hair?
Faith in nature seem to have changed their formulation and have ammonium lauryl sulfate in most if not all of their shampoo now – is the one listed genuinely an outlier or is this an error – that ingredient is ranked as a moderate risk in the app
yes i noticed lots of shampoos were bad and thank you as difficult to find a good one so this helps
Thank you for sharing this
Thank you. Great information. Pleased to hear this and will certainly purchasing a few different 1s .🫶♥️
This is perfect for me as I’m a hairdresser and very conscious of products going onto my hands but also reading what would be best for my clients. Thank you for doing the research

Only curls, was a shampoos earlier this week, it’s just arrived. And I have scanned it . U now have it as poor?Don’t understand, as I trust u ?
Thank you for showing some ‘good’ shampoos. It’s amazing what baddies there are in our every day use products.
what are the best non fragranced shampoos Please?
I Struggle to find the things you recommend in the shops
Thank you some really useful info on the different shampoos listed.
I just have a query as someone who is allergic to fragrance as well as some of the other compounds (most of the shampoos listed contain fragrance). Most of the substances listed in the product info of each of the listed shampoos however are classed as ‘medium risk’ as could be an irritant. Fragrance is classed as ‘low risk’ yet there are quite a few people who are allergic to fragrance.
Are there any recommended shampoos that are also fragrance free? – many thanks
Thank you Julie. I have been searching on hair products. This will help me to select appropriate for me.
Thank you for info- I’ve been looking for good shampoos that don’t cost a fortune for a while ! I trust in Yuka 🥕❤️

Hi, have you tried Selkie shampoo and conditioner? They are natural and no plastic either. I’d like to know your opinion about it. As I’ve used it and it worked well for my hair.
Thank you great information about the shampoo’s
There is a YouTube video that talks about 7 shampoos to avoid at all costs.
One if the shampoos it mentions is biotin with collagen. It damages your hair in the long run.
Check out the video
Hi Saida,
Thanks for your comment!
Yuka rates products only by the health risks of their ingredients, not by effectiveness or long-term performance like hair breakage. That being said, your feedback is really helpful, and we will look into how user experiences could be better integrated in the future.
Thanks for responding. I think you should stick to health risks, the other issues vary greatly from person to person that it would be a minefield to dabble into it. You are doing great work already!
Thanks for the information. Do you have any recommendations for hair conditioner, hair mask, mouse and dry shampoo?
TIA
Thanks very much, I’ve been looking for a new shampoo. Must give some of these a go.
This is interesting. Some of this brand is full of rubbish & others when you scan with Yuka come up ‘green’.
Waitrose Pure range comes up positively too.
Great information, thank you.
I will definitely check out some of these!

I switched to The Cornish Seaweed Bath company products over a year ago. You should check them out. They have no chemicals and are made with seaweed! The shampoo & conditioner are great and have really made my hair shine. The soap is lively too.

I use nizoral and I like it for cleaning my eczema prone scalp and yes it helps to sooth it.
Very helpful. Thanks.

Thank you
It would be very useful if you said whether or nor product were tested on animals, animal ingredients etc. Thanks
Hi Paula, thank you for sharing your thoughts! At the moment, Yuka does not include cruelty-free criteria in our product ratings. We focus exclusively on health and ingredient risks. That said, we are actively exploring how to integrate cruelty-free information in a future version of the app.
In the meantime, you can look for these labels on packaging:
• Leaping Bunny – The strictest cruelty-free standard internationally
• PETA Beauty Without Bunnies – Cruelty-free, sometimes vegan too
• Choose Cruelty-Free (CCF) – Australian certification
• Cruelty-Free International – Uses the Leaping Bunny symbol
• Vegan Society – Ensures no animal-derived ingredients
I hope this helps!
The Faith in Nature shampoo made my hair incredibly dry and notty. No good for me.
