Smoked Salmon Sushi Wrap

4.9 — 9 reviews

Why settle for takeout when you can make your own sushi-inspired treat in just minutes? These Smoked Salmon Sushi Wraps are a fun twist on traditional sushi, combining all the flavor and elegance with none of the fuss. Each bite offers a perfect balance of creamy avocado, smoked salmon, and crisp veggies, all wrapped in nutrient-rich nori. Packed with omega-3s, fiber, and flavor, these sushi-style wraps are not only healthy but also quick to make!

Ingredients2 servings

  • 4 sheets nori seaweed
  • 1 cup sushi rice*, cooked and cooled
  • 4 oz smoked salmon, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp sour cream
  • 1 avocado, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp pickled red onion
  • 2 Tbsp dill, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp sesame seeds

Directions

1

In a bowl, combine chopped smoked salmon with sour cream. Stir until well combined.

2

On a piece of parchment paper larger than the nori sheet, place nori shiny-side down so it looks like a diamond. Scoop 1/4 cup rice into the center and shape into a 3 inch square. Use wet fingers to avoid rice sticking. Top with 1/4 of the salmon mixture, 1/4 of the avocado slices, 1/4 of the cucumbers, 1/4 of the pickled red onions, and 1/4 of the dill. Sprinkle with 1/4 of the sesame seeds.

3

Fold corners of nori in to the center and press gently, lightly wetting nori with a small amount of water to secure if needed. Firmly fold parchment paper around folded sushi wrap and place with the folded side down. Repeat to make 4 wraps. Allow to rest a few minutes then unwrap and gently slice in half on the diagonal with a sharp knife.

Notes:

  • This sushi rice is served plain, so simply buy sushi style rice and cook according to the directions on the package. No additional ingredients required.
  • Can use thinly sliced raw onions in the place of pickled onions

Happy cooking 🥰 ☀️

The recipes are great, thank you. What are your thoughts about farm raised salmon? It seems that is all I can find except frozen wild caught sock-eye salmon which isn’t my favorite. Lately there has been so much negative news about farm raised salmon being so bad. Is there a better choice that you recommend?

We recommend wild caught when possible, or opting for fish such as sardines and mackerel!

Hi, I’m dairy free. What canI substitute the sour cream with? I thought of plain nonfat Greek yogurt but would that mess with the integrity of it?

It depends on the consistency! If its more liquidy, you could use a little less. Otherwise a dairy-free dill dip could work well!

Thank you I love how you put out the steps to get to the finished product. I will definitely try this. I was wondering if it would taste good also with can sardines?

Looks great! I would leave off the rice and add more avocado for a keto version. 😋👍🏻
