I love Yuka so informative! I was addicted to Carmex for 20 years or so, my lips are now not great and I wonder if it is down to over use of a product containing harmful chemicals. Keep up the great work. One thought, do you consider micro-plastics? Thanks

Fruu coconut lip balm also seems to be free of harmful substances, works really well and uses ‘unloved’ coconut and avocado.

I always make my own lipbalm but this is a really helpful guide . I can’t use “fragrance” , parfum, limonene or linalool which is in so many commercially produced products.

The Ordinary squalane + amino acids lip balm is good but the packaging shape is poor. When there is still loads left it becomes impossible to squeeze it out.

Tropic Lip Shade nourishing SPF 50 Balm is 100/100. It’s very good on your lips. I use to get bad cold sores. Now I’m using balms without nasties in I rarely get. Huge thanks Yuka

Thanks. I’ve tried Badger lip balm which states it’s 100% natural.
I use Organic Lip Balm from the Cornish Seaweed Co. I find it ideal especially as I have very dry skin. It contains organic olive oil, organic cocoa butter, extracts of angelica, sinensis, mint, potentilla, fucus serratus seaweed and organic peppermint essential oil. Quite a list of ingredients but no unwanted additives. Not cheap but worth a look.
Are there any safe face moisturisers out there? I’m struggling to find anything that isn’t bad or poor!
