Most of these products contain ingredients you DON’T want to have IN your body. I’ve become a purist with what I put ON my skin as it is the largest organ and absorbs whatever you apply. This includes your lips.

Why no options for some really GREAT and GOOD FOR YOU products? With ingredients you can pronounce. Yes, there’s a bit of research to do, but our health and wellbeing are worth it. Here’s a couple personal favorites. I don’t get anything for suggesting, just the satisfaction of helping others stay healthy.
How about Clara & Fritz Tallow lip balm (a favorite) – Grass-fed beef tallow, organic extra virgin olive oil, beeswax, and essential oils.
Or Van Man Peppermint lip balm – Organic beeswax, organic extra virgin coconut oil, almond oil, peppermint oil, rosemary oil, lanolin and vitamin e. (I love their tallow, deodorant and tooth powder.)

Anything that says fragrance with essential oil is suspect. Have those ingredients been explored? Most “fragrances” have chemicals that are endocrine and hormone disruptors at the very least.

Beeswax is a common allergen. I use soothing touch vanilla lip balm and earth’s daughter pomegranate lip balm. Both of these are vegan and have organic ingredients.

Do any of these have sun protection (SPF)?
I have had skin cancer on my face and have been advised to use a lip product with SPF.
It’s not listed here under the top 10, but you can try Badger SPF 15 lip balm. The current Yuka score is 93. The sunscreen in it is zinc oxide, and it doesn’t leave a strong white caste like other zinc-based balms.

If interested, there is a website, godlygranny.com started by a Christian grandmother, who is tired of being poisoned. Her business is run by her and her husband. In TN, I do believe. I’ve purchased most of them, and they are fantastic, affordable and ea has a list of what all they do and their uses.
Since you’re on lip balm, nothing beats their plumping lip mask. Use after the lip scrub! Yes, it scrubs your lips of stains and dead skin. It’s amazing. They are 9.95 and 11.95, respectively. 0.5 oz ea.
Lots of clean, pure skin care products too. I don’t sell it, I don’t make $, just spreading the word bc it’s not always easy to find safe products with so much purposeful contamination being inflicted upon us remaining humans.

Do you list allergy warnings anywhere in your product reviews? While some of these might be healthier alternatives to other products out there, I have a family member who is serverely allergic to nuts, and that warning would be extremely helpful to know about when reviewing your other information.

Not exactly on topic with lip balms here, but I just wanted you to know I love your mobile app. Every trip to the store I’ve got my phone out scanning the barcodes to see how any purchase stacks up nutritionally. It’s especially useful when comparing the food value (or lack thereof) between competing brands. It’s become essential when making these choices. Keep up the great work.

Personally I like the lip balm from “Just Ingredients”. They have regular and SPF formulas in several scents. They also have no endocrine disrupters. Very clean products.

I have read that beeswax actually does the opposite and dries out your lips. Also, Carmax is another brand that you feel the need, to continually apply hence you’re always needing to more from what I’ve been told (I do not use carmex.)
No matter what I use ,my lips peel every time I use any of these products, and believe me l tried them all,
Mine did this too. Turns out I’m sensitive to beeswax, which is in almost everything!! So I’ve switched to lanolin (Lanolips) and it hasn’t happened since. I’m surprised they didn’t make this list…and it’s made me questions others on it… especially Carmex, Aquaphor, and EOS. Now I’m going to have to reevaluate Yuka app recommendations.

Dr. Dans Cortibalm is my go to. Kind of pricey though. I am going to try Aquaphor now as well
