I think there should be a distinction made here, between chemical sunscreens which most of these are and which contain dangerous chemicals (benzine for example) and mineral sunscreens. On this list I would consider only Shade to be safe due to it being a mineral/barrier sunscreen

Most of the sunscreens you recommended aren’t available in shops in the UK, at least none that I have seen.

You should have included Eau Solaire Sun from SVR which rates 100/100 and it’s also great for kids! Thanks you Yuka for making me find the best suncream ever! 😉

I’m very surprised that Tropic Sun Care range is not featured in the top 10 because it should be. It’s safe to use on all the family, certified by Protect Land & Sea and contains no toxic chemicals. Made fresh in the UK.

I’m really surprised Tropic Skincare isn’t there, it’s the only brand that protects our skin well (including previous skin cancer that needs the most comprehensive protection) and we can use with eczema and dermatitis.

Thanks for compiling this list, and even thought environmentally friendly, it is not cruelty free. Half of the brands on this list allow its products to be tested on animals.

I would urge people not to buy products from:
    Caudalie
    Eucerin
    Avene
    Nivea (same owners as Eucerin)
    La Roche Posay (L’Oreal)
