September’s here, and nothing beats a protein-packed bite 🥜
Peanut butter isn’t just comfort food — it’s a powerhouse snack that upgrades smoothies, toast, and everything in between. With plenty of protein and rich flavor, it’s a classic that sticks.
Real peanut butter is meant to be simple — just peanuts. But here’s the scoop: many popular brands sneak in added sugars, oils, and unnecessary additives.
To help you spread smarter, we’ve rounded up 10 of the best-rated peanut butters on Yuka. Simple, made with ingredients you can trust. Peanut better, one spoonful at a time. 😉

Like all our rankings, this one was conducted completely independently, and no brand has paid to be included.
I purchased the good gather organic peanut butter. Taste ok, super runny so I would not recommend unless you want to drink it.
Been eating the wrong peanut butter all this time but I like peanut butter with honey 🤔
Where is Laura Scudder’s smooth peanut butter?
Thank you. I love peanut butter and appreciate the info!
Something else that matters to me when I shop for food is whether it is in plastic or glass. I want glass so the plastics chemicals are not leaching into the food. In fact, I think that should be included in the scores.
I would like to know where the saturated fat is coming from. Is it the peanuts themselves or added oils. Listing the ingredients of each in the articles would help, instead of just “no palm oil.”
I am throughly enjoying this app. Been helpful for me in staying more healthy..
Thank you, with your help I now use Kirkland nut buttutter
Thanks for sharing
I love this app as well email updates
Thank You, I have been looking for a heathier peanut butter, now I don’t have to waste time going through scanning so many.
Thanks for keeping us in the know!
I have bought BJs organic peanut butter for years. It is delicious, although a bit runny. I highly recommend it.
Can you tell me the best almond butter is. Looking for a pure product.
What about Crunchy… that’s what I eat
Thanks for the information. I have 2 questions. What is the cholesterol content of peanut butter and why is the rating 94/100 for the top choice and not 100/100?
Thank you,
Anne
Yes, I agree, I don’t understand the ratings. I wish there was more of an explanation for the scoring. I would assume I would want to choose a 94 over an 85 rating, but why? And like you said, why isn’t it 100?
Because none of them were perfect enough to achieve a score of 100. Just because a product is a top scorer does not mean it could not be better.
Thanks for the info on healthy peanut butters- are non additive almond, pistachio and cashew butters as healthy?
Thank you! For sharing..
Yeah! Great job. Useful info.
Yes, I think Almond Butter is healthier.
Top almond butters?
Are there any crunchy style brands you can recommend? Thanks.
Do you have any almond butter? I don’t like peanut butter.
Love this very helpful! SO glad I found this app
Wow thanks
Thank you!!!!
In this article you state: “Organic Creamy Peanut Butter – Trader Joe’s Excellent – 94/100”. I purchase, from T.J. one with the oil on top. The jar states: “Creamy peanut Butter from unblanched peanuts” (No organic on it) It, too, has ONLY peanuts listed on it.
Member’s Mark Natural Creamy Peanut Butter 60/100 on your app. This is the best I can find since I don’t have access to the other products in my area
Love number 10 Kirkland brand at Costco
What are the best chunky peanut butters?
Teddies Crunchy Peanut butter
I agree. And it is salt free and ONLY Peanuts, period.
Not Skippy
Super chunky?
What’s wrong with crunchy?
I have Teddie all natural smooth unsalted peanut butter. Ingredient says dry roasted peanut. That’s all. Non GMO. Comes with glass jar and metal cap!!! Like it.😀
I have been using Crazy Richard’s 100% peanuts creamy natural peanut butter for some time. It was not on your lidt of top ten. Have you ever evaluated this product?
I love this PB. Made in my home state Ohio and a women owned company.
My complaint about organic peanut butter is they are very bland, have to be stirred every time you use it. Haven’t been a fan- however I haven’t seen these brands before. Is there one that has taste to it?
What I do, so I don’t have to stir it every time, I empty the jar into a bowl, stir it up, and then transfer it to a glass container with a lid, for storage in the refrigerator. I’ve been consuming GreenWise (sold at Publix) creamy and crunchy, because of their limited ingredients – Organic Dry Roasted Peanuts, Sea Salt. I enjoy the flavor of both of these.
Good to know!!!
I really like your App! A friend passed it on to me and I find it extraordinarily helpful in selecting healthful products.
Thank you
Thank you so much for the information ✌️
Any thought to ranking more Crunchy or Extra Crunchy brands. That would be helpful as well. Thanks. By the way I have tried this App and Bobby Approved App and I find this one more informative. Thanks for keeping us informed.
I love your app & am a Trader Joe fan. I use their peanut butter because of your app. Thanks for keeping us informed!
Good to include Costco and Trader Joe’s items on your list because they are my favorite stores to shop. Thank you!
I am very impressed with this helpful and informative app!
Thank you so very much .
You definitely give me “ food for thought “!
We are what we eat and support .
Gracias por la información es muy importante para mí..bendiciones 🙏
Thisinformation on peanut butter was extremely helpful. Thanks.
I don’t shop at Trader Joe’s! I find them very overpriced. I don’t shop at Whole Foods.. I’m a type two diabetic. I shop at Publix.. I really like Publix. I’ve been shopping there for years and I’m gonna continue to shop there my favorite peanut butter and it doesn’t have any palm oil is Peter Pan all natural I like it. I don’t care what anybody says about it. It doesn’t come from Trader Joe’s, and it doesn’t come from Whole Foods. It comes from Publix.
And I like it
You guys, are absolutely awesome! Thanks for everything you do to keep us all eating better!!!! I have changed many of the stuff I used to eat thinking it was healthy because of you! Thanks!!!!
Great information. Thanks!
I also love the trader joe’s crunchy pb! Nothing but peanuts, and it’s crunchy, which is my preference.
Thank you! I love this app and I tell anyone who will listen about it.
where’s the crunchy?
Thanks for the info. YUKA is so helpful! I have told so many people about this app. They come back absolutely amazed. I tell them to spread the word!
Thank you, very helpful. Love Yuka app
Loved peanut butter all my life but I keep hearing drs that peanuts have aflatoxin that is unhealthy … does organic mean they don’t have that? I’d love to get back to eating it again.
Thank you as always for the awesome information.Even though I pre almond butter my brand was at the top!!
Really like the YUKA App, easy identified healthy alternatives to unhealthy food
Why not include Chunky style
You know peanut butter is good when the only ingredient is peanuts.
I have become a huge YUKa fan……..I used to hate peanut butter, BUT, now I am in love with a local pure peanut butter called Nutty Novelties – Smooth and Unsalted, that YUKA rates as 84! It is fromTelford, PA and can be ordered. I now actually have moments when I crave it! I love it on a toasted Thomas’s
English muffin……..I bring it to work with me! Thank you for what you do!!!!!!!!!
JFG once was my very favorite, i was consuming at least one large jar a month. Found out by using YUKA, that it contained very bad additives
I really love yuka really help me to know what to buy in the store I appreciate you 💗 ❤️ 🙏
I appreciate this! So convenient to read it here and know up front what brands to buy. Thanks!
Can u please
Start rating protein powders ! This would be so helpful. I have changed things I eat because of this app, appreciate all the work u do.
How about crunchy peanut butter?
Love the selection but you are missing prozis peanut butter
I love what you do.i tell all my friends and people I met in the store to download your app.
Thank you. Very helpful
Teddies didn’t make the cut? Interesting
Thank you good job
Very interesting, and very helpful, thank you
Thank you again for this valuable information!! I wonder how you would rate JIFF, and PETER PAN peanut butter? Of course, I can always scan them (as I usually do now) before I purchase anything thanks to YUKA!!!
JIFF is BAD (additives) but for name brands, Skippy can hold it’s head up with a 54/100, no additives or palm oil… Trader Joes is 40 minutes away… I’ll take a 54!
Skippys had added palm oil.
Peter Pan contains added hydrogenated vegetable oils (cottonseed and rapeseed). Peter Pan Crunchy, no high-fructose corn syrup contains added sugar and hydrogenated vegetable oils (cottonseed and rapeseed).
Jif Natural Creamy contains added sugar, palm oil, and molasses. Jif Smooth contains added sugar and palm oil. Jif No Sugar Added contains added palm oil.
Skippy Natural contains added palm oil. Skippy Natural Squeeze pack contains added palm oil and sugar.
Thanks
Thank you
👍 thank you
I love Yuka! I use it very time I go grocery shopping. The app has really opened my eyes to all the harsh foods I have been eating that I thought was good for me.
I am now picking out the products that are healthy for me and my family.
Keep up the great work!
what about crunchy ?
You guys are the BEST! I scan everything now and am surprised frequently both good & bad. For pnb I use organic powdered that you highly rate. I rely on this app daily…thanks so much for making it available!
When are you going to include no seed oil? All seed oils are bad
Thank you! This will be very helpful! 😋
Thank you!
Thank you for all the hard work you do! I now walk through the supermarket with my smartphone in hand, scanning everything. I’m making smarter choices everyday. You have really opened my eyes about what harmful chemicals lurk in what otherwise looks like healthy food! Thank you for this amazing service. I don’t know how I lived without it!!
Thank you. When my Skippy is gone. I will change
ty … this is very helpful to me… Love PB… generally use Smucker’s but will next try Kirkland
I appreciate what you are doing to inform the public regarding food choices. I realize that all of the peanut butters you rated are made with healthy ingredients, however peanut butter in plastic containers is toxic. Considering all the research that has been conducted on this topic, any company that is still using plastic jars for their peanut butter, or any other food, should receive a rating of zero.
Julie, You are doing so much good in the world of Food today. I want to commend you on your important work. I trust the Yuka app and use it frequently to find products that will keep me safe. Great information to know about Peanut Butters. Thanks a lot.
Adams didn’t make the list or Justin’s?? I will need to get to Trader Joe’s lol
Thank you!
Toni
These products are not even available in pennsylvania. Everything that I have bought and scanned is bad.
See if you can find Natural GIF creamy. It rates good (60/100). I am in Eastern Pennsylvania, and I found it on the shelf. I wish I could remember which store. Hope that helps.
So thankful for your work, research and recommendation! Please keep it up👌
I have the Santa Cruz crunchy variety and it’s pretty good
Some of these brands are really messy in texture. Even if you refrigerate them, by the time you finish your pnj it’s dripping all over.
I can’t believe there are no crunchy PBs listed. It isn’t PB if it isn’t crunchy. I won’t even eat the creamy versions. They will rot on our shelves if left up to me to eat them. Luckily the wife likes them, but I only get crunchy. So, will just have to stick with Skippy. Or maybe find an organic Skippy…
Laura Scudder’s is an excellent peanut butter – only peanuts and salt AND they have crunchy!
Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods. Simply put: peanut butter on a slice of white bread and a glass of milk. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner.👏😄
These are great but they are all creamy. We like the crunchy ones. The only place I have found them is fry’s brand organic crunchy. It is also no stir which I love. It does have a little sugar but it’s excellent.
Try Laura Scudder’s crunchy. Only peanuts and salt.
Creamy Dark Roasted Peanut Butter – Santa Cruz Organic has a weird stiff consistency to me.
I agree with #2 and #3 although the Smuckers creamy I tried was not smooth, had a graininess.
Field Day Organic smoth is good too!
My absolute favorite peanut butter is Crazy Richard’s! May be not organic but ingredients- just peanuts! No oils, salt, sugars.
I also am a Crazy Richard’s fan…..I’ve been buying it for years.
Another crazy richards fan, I eat it on sandwiches and right out of the can. Seems to be one of the few peanuts only types I can get at a Walmart, so readily available.
Good to know, thank you !
Why are Smuckers and 365 rated differently when ingredients are the same. Smuckers is Kosher but does that rate it higher? Thanks, Bee
How about Almond butter?
Love the Smuckers 😋
Aren’t there any healthy crunchy peanut butters???
Trader Joes has both organic smooth and crunchy peanut butters
Laura Scudder’s peanut butter has the crunchy variety. Only peanuts and salt.
Thank you so much
Thanks so much for this insightful information.
Thank you for your continued ranking for products. Very helpful.
This is so good!! I know I can scan the Yuka app, but sometimes when you’re armed with the product you’re looking for, you can just go grab it! This is helpful when you’re pressed for time! Many blessings!
But which one tastes as good as Skippy?
Thank you so much for the info on peanut butter. It’s my favorite treat, and with your information I have changed my favorite brand to a healthier product.
Which one is the best tasting and closest to standard peanut butter I.e. JIFF
https://app.yuka.io/KBEBSwC
Natural Jif creamy rates 60/100. It’s rated as too caloric and too much fat, but zero additives. It might be a good jumping off point, and it’s what I’m eating now.
Thank you.
To all of the people who asked about specific brands of Peanut Butter: When you’re in the store, scan your favorite peanut butter with your Yuka app and Yuka will give you the information on your brand. It’s the reason Yuka was created.
What about Kroger brand?
Highly recommend Kroger’s All Natural Peanut Butter smooth or crunchy 😋
Did any crunchy brands make the cut?
Maybe crunchy will be rated soon.
Teddie All Natural Super Chunky peanut Butter is so good. Is that okay as well?
If you could please share, of the different brands listed, why some are graded lower since they are all within the Excellent category? Perhaps the salt, although some at the top of the list also have salt and #7 & #8 don’t even mention salt? All of the information is of great interest and appreciated, but for me, other concerns are the lectin from the peanut skins, and those jars that are made from plastic as opposed to glass. I have had many plastic jars that leak, which tells me it does not have a secure seal and air is getting in to the product which can make the product rancid. I can figure out the jar situation, but do you know of any healthy peanut butter brands that don’t have the peanut skin included? That would be a great help!

What about Aldis organic natural peanut butter that is just peanuts?
Shouldn’t Adams PB be included?
Where is the “crunchy” peanut butter?
Is “creamy” that much better?
I really appreciate you for caring about others by giving information about our health without having to pay. Lots of ads on different things you can do to better get rid of various things with these long videos and when you get to the end, it’s these home ingredients that you have at home, but they’ve put them in a pill form and it cost hundreds of dollars.
Thank you ladies for really caring for people and for using your God given gifts to help others.
Hello can you give me information about jiffy peanut butter
https://app.yuka.io/KBEBSwC
How about trader joes crunchy unsalted peanut butter? It doesn’t say organic but it has just the one ingredient, peanuts
Thank you so much Luka for caring for others. I’m a senior and I lost my husband six years ago and I am eating healthier and I use the app faithfully. I just wished I can contribute, but I’m my finances aren’t the greatest at this point, but we truly love you For caring for others. In spite of their finance conditions you’re definitely God sent thank you thank you thank you
You could add Teddie All Natural smooth to your “good” listing. I have that on hand and it just scanned as good.
How about jellies to with this
Bonne Maman. Delicious!
I’m using Skippy Extra Crunchy PB. It’s not as perfect as the ones you show, but it’s on my grocery shelf and pretty darn good according to your standards.
Please don’t bombard me with emails just because I gave you my choice of on.
Do you have a crunchy best list?
