TOP 10 Peanut Butters 🇺🇲

September’s here, and nothing beats a protein-packed bite 🥜

Peanut butter isn’t just comfort food — it’s a powerhouse snack that upgrades smoothies, toast, and everything in between. With plenty of protein and rich flavor, it’s a classic that sticks.

Real peanut butter is meant to be simple — just peanuts. But here’s the scoop: many popular brands sneak in added sugars, oils, and unnecessary additives.

To help you spread smarter, we’ve rounded up 10 of the best-rated peanut butters on Yuka. Simple, made with ingredients you can trust. Peanut better, one spoonful at a time. 😉

What, no Teddy? I prefer a bit of salt and the crunchy variety. But its best attributes are it is available in ordinary (non-specialty) supermarkets and, most importantly, is packaged in reusable glass jars. NOT plastic. Trader Joe is king of plastic packaging.

I had 3 incurable cancers in 1978. The organization that cured all that for me said that peanuts were not to be eaten because there is a naturally-occurring fungus on them that laboratories use to create cancers in lab rats.

    https://tamararubin.com/

My link got weird but just search “peanut butter”. Many of those you listed were tested by XRF and contain lead, cadmium and arsenic at dangerous levels.

One very important thing she found was that it is very thick & therefore heated before containerizing to levels unsafe to prevent harmful toxicants being released from plastic containers.

      Hello-
First of all cashews are high in omega 6 fatty acids which promotes inflammation, and they’re higher in carbs and fats than other nuts. Almond butter is a good nut butter – just make sure whatever nut butter you buy is NON GMO- that’s the most important factor- if you can afford organic, go that route. If not, look for that “non-gmo butterfly” stamp.

several of the organic peanut butters have palm oil added, –not healthy and why is there no mention of palm oil in the ratings. It would also be helpful list the container sustainability–glass vs plastic.

Agree with others, Teddie’s would a super addition to list.
Also Wegman’s Just Peanuts is a winner, -the plastic container
read many comments why crazy richards isn’t listed. When the company was acquired From the owner Richard (local to the Main line in PA it was bought) More oil was added ;-(

Your review includes nothing about aflatoxin or emulsifiers. AFLATOXIN is one of the most toxic naturally-occurring substances on the planet – a highly carcinogenic mycotoxin. Peanuts are an over-hybridized, weak crop that are vulnerable to this toxin – especially peanuts grown in the humid climate of the Southeast. Valencia peanuts may be safer. Unless the peanuts are certified aflatoxin-free, you shouldn’t eat them or anything made from them.
EMULSIFIERS can also be very harmful. These include:
    • Hydrogenated oil
    • Palm oil”
    • Mono- and diglycerides
    • Soy lecithin
The last two will not be listed as “oils.”

I’m so glad that there are 10 healthy peanut butter‘s without any additives thank you for your report. Peanut butter is so good. I don’t quite understand why organic doesn’t have the robust flavor of like Laura Scutter that is not on this list. I love Laura scutter peanut butter. It is so good crunchy nutty

Down the list someone mentioned all the different chemicals that are involved in peanut butter and it’s very important that those are listed on the jar and that when you did this survey that that was taken into consideration because anything with those chemicals within the peanut butter should not be allowed on the list. We the people that are health-conscious don’t want peanut butter with sugar or dextrose any form of sugar or any kind of chemicals. Why can’t it just be ground up peanuts.?
