September’s here, and nothing beats a protein-packed bite 🥜
Peanut butter isn’t just comfort food — it’s a powerhouse snack that upgrades smoothies, toast, and everything in between. With plenty of protein and rich flavor, it’s a classic that sticks.
Real peanut butter is meant to be simple — just peanuts. But here’s the scoop: many popular brands sneak in added sugars, oils, and unnecessary additives.
To help you spread smarter, we’ve rounded up 10 of the best-rated peanut butters on Yuka. Simple, made with ingredients you can trust. Peanut better, one spoonful at a time. 😉

You guys are the BEST! I scan everything now and am surprised frequently both good & bad. For pnb I use organic powdered that you highly rate. I rely on this app daily…thanks so much for making it available!
When are you going to include no seed oil? All seed oils are bad
Thank you! This will be very helpful! 😋
Thank you!
Thank you for all the hard work you do! I now walk through the supermarket with my smartphone in hand, scanning everything. I’m making smarter choices everyday. You have really opened my eyes about what harmful chemicals lurk in what otherwise looks like healthy food! Thank you for this amazing service. I don’t know how I lived without it!!
Thank you. When my Skippy is gone. I will change
ty … this is very helpful to me… Love PB… generally use Smucker’s but will next try Kirkland
I appreciate what you are doing to inform the public regarding food choices. I realize that all of the peanut butters you rated are made with healthy ingredients, however peanut butter in plastic containers is toxic. Considering all the research that has been conducted on this topic, any company that is still using plastic jars for their peanut butter, or any other food, should receive a rating of zero.
Julie, You are doing so much good in the world of Food today. I want to commend you on your important work. I trust the Yuka app and use it frequently to find products that will keep me safe. Great information to know about Peanut Butters. Thanks a lot.
Adams didn’t make the list or Justin’s?? I will need to get to Trader Joe’s lol
Thank you!
Toni
These products are not even available in pennsylvania. Everything that I have bought and scanned is bad.
See if you can find Natural GIF creamy. It rates good (60/100). I am in Eastern Pennsylvania, and I found it on the shelf. I wish I could remember which store. Hope that helps.
So thankful for your work, research and recommendation! Please keep it up👌
I have the Santa Cruz crunchy variety and it’s pretty good
Some of these brands are really messy in texture. Even if you refrigerate them, by the time you finish your pnj it’s dripping all over.
I can’t believe there are no crunchy PBs listed. It isn’t PB if it isn’t crunchy. I won’t even eat the creamy versions. They will rot on our shelves if left up to me to eat them. Luckily the wife likes them, but I only get crunchy. So, will just have to stick with Skippy. Or maybe find an organic Skippy…
Laura Scudder’s is an excellent peanut butter – only peanuts and salt AND they have crunchy!
Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods. Simply put: peanut butter on a slice of white bread and a glass of milk. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner.👏😄
These are great but they are all creamy. We like the crunchy ones. The only place I have found them is fry’s brand organic crunchy. It is also no stir which I love. It does have a little sugar but it’s excellent.
Try Laura Scudder’s crunchy. Only peanuts and salt.
Creamy Dark Roasted Peanut Butter – Santa Cruz Organic has a weird stiff consistency to me.
I agree with #2 and #3 although the Smuckers creamy I tried was not smooth, had a graininess.
Field Day Organic smoth is good too!
My absolute favorite peanut butter is Crazy Richard’s! May be not organic but ingredients- just peanuts! No oils, salt, sugars.
I also am a Crazy Richard’s fan…..I’ve been buying it for years.
Another crazy richards fan, I eat it on sandwiches and right out of the can. Seems to be one of the few peanuts only types I can get at a Walmart, so readily available.
Good to know, thank you !
Why are Smuckers and 365 rated differently when ingredients are the same. Smuckers is Kosher but does that rate it higher? Thanks, Bee
How about Almond butter?
Love the Smuckers 😋
Aren’t there any healthy crunchy peanut butters???
Trader Joes has both organic smooth and crunchy peanut butters
Laura Scudder’s peanut butter has the crunchy variety. Only peanuts and salt.
Thank you so much
Thanks so much for this insightful information.
Thank you for your continued ranking for products. Very helpful.
This is so good!! I know I can scan the Yuka app, but sometimes when you’re armed with the product you’re looking for, you can just go grab it! This is helpful when you’re pressed for time! Many blessings!
But which one tastes as good as Skippy?
Thank you so much for the info on peanut butter. It’s my favorite treat, and with your information I have changed my favorite brand to a healthier product.
Which one is the best tasting and closest to standard peanut butter I.e. JIFF
https://app.yuka.io/KBEBSwC
Natural Jif creamy rates 60/100. It’s rated as too caloric and too much fat, but zero additives. It might be a good jumping off point, and it’s what I’m eating now.
Thank you.
To all of the people who asked about specific brands of Peanut Butter: When you’re in the store, scan your favorite peanut butter with your Yuka app and Yuka will give you the information on your brand. It’s the reason Yuka was created.
What about Kroger brand?
Highly recommend Kroger’s All Natural Peanut Butter smooth or crunchy 😋
Did any crunchy brands make the cut?
Maybe crunchy will be rated soon.
Teddie All Natural Super Chunky peanut Butter is so good. Is that okay as well?
If you could please share, of the different brands listed, why some are graded lower since they are all within the Excellent category? Perhaps the salt, although some at the top of the list also have salt and #7 & #8 don’t even mention salt? All of the information is of great interest and appreciated, but for me, other concerns are the lectin from the peanut skins, and those jars that are made from plastic as opposed to glass. I have had many plastic jars that leak, which tells me it does not have a secure seal and air is getting in to the product which can make the product rancid. I can figure out the jar situation, but do you know of any healthy peanut butter brands that don’t have the peanut skin included? That would be a great help!

What about Aldis organic natural peanut butter that is just peanuts?
Shouldn’t Adams PB be included?
Where is the “crunchy” peanut butter?
Is “creamy” that much better?
I really appreciate you for caring about others by giving information about our health without having to pay. Lots of ads on different things you can do to better get rid of various things with these long videos and when you get to the end, it’s these home ingredients that you have at home, but they’ve put them in a pill form and it cost hundreds of dollars.
Thank you ladies for really caring for people and for using your God given gifts to help others.
Hello can you give me information about jiffy peanut butter
https://app.yuka.io/KBEBSwC
How about trader joes crunchy unsalted peanut butter? It doesn’t say organic but it has just the one ingredient, peanuts
Thank you so much Luka for caring for others. I’m a senior and I lost my husband six years ago and I am eating healthier and I use the app faithfully. I just wished I can contribute, but I’m my finances aren’t the greatest at this point, but we truly love you For caring for others. In spite of their finance conditions you’re definitely God sent thank you thank you thank you
You could add Teddie All Natural smooth to your “good” listing. I have that on hand and it just scanned as good.
How about jellies to with this
Bonne Maman. Delicious!
I’m using Skippy Extra Crunchy PB. It’s not as perfect as the ones you show, but it’s on my grocery shelf and pretty darn good according to your standards.
Please don’t bombard me with emails just because I gave you my choice of on.
Do you have a crunchy best list?
