But recently FDA approved this new ingredient BEMOTRIZINOL as the safest ingredient which protects better against UVA/UVB exposure without entering the blood stream. It’s been approved in Europe for years. I hope Canada gets on board as well and put out products which include this ingredient.

This is so helpful to know since so many chemicals are addded to things we put on our skin. I use yuka for food primarily which has been extremely helpful especially for those items we think are good but some actually rate as bad ie: bread, yogurt

I use All Good Tinted Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30. You’ve rated it 98/100. I know it is a lower SPF but because it is so light and sheer I reapply it as necessary. They also have a non tinted one but because I’m fair I use the tinted and never forget to put it on.
I found one that has 93/100 and it’s called Lait solaire très haute protection SPF50+ from

Most of these are usually available at Shoppers once they set up their summer sun isle, that’s when I stockpile for the year.
Lotus Aroma 100% Canadian and natural ingredients.
Avene used to have a spray formula for both adults and kids. This is the only brand I bought to use on my granddaughter and still do.

Great info. Have you assessed Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+. I love it for my face. Haven’t tried the lotion. It’s pricey but seems to be great and doesn’t leave a greasy or weird residue.

Are any of these products sold in Canada
At least 2 of them are Canadian brands (Attitude and Green Beaver). I am not sure of the others but I know you can find Attitude and Green Beaver in stores in Canada and online. I have switched most of my cleaning products and now my sunscreen to Attitude. Their products are really good quality and high rated on Yuka! 🙂

It’s really great that you provide helpful information but the biggest problem I have is that I can’t find most of these where I live. In Canada they go for cheap, not good, at least not in Alberta.
I used to get Dr. Praerager’s organic Californian vegetarian burgers but they did away with those in lieu of coated burgers that aren’t organic; not nearly as healthy. I have to find something else now.
Although I hate to suggest giving Jeff Bezos any more money at a last resort these items can be purchased through Amazon.
You can still buy those veggie burgers at Costco in Edmonton. I love them.
Shoppers in Alberta sells blue lizard and think sport.
Also Attitude is a great brand highly rated and canadian-made. Also at shoppers drugmart

The Green Beaver is the greasiest sunscreen off all time! If you go the beach wearing it, you’ll never get the sand off of you.
Take baby powder with you. It works very well at removing the sand.
Thank you for the Yuka application as I use it EVERY TIME I purchase a beauty product. Some of the “biggest” name brands are the worst for your skin. I also found while using the app that some of the smaller and less known brands are the better products. I don’t know how many people I’ve shared this app with.
You certainly made a huge difference in how I shop for items.
My dermatologist recommended Avene. It’s a great product.
I love all of these but If I may, my top one for SPF face serum is the Selfcare 50 SPF face serum. So easy to apply and it’s been working great for me.
