Deodorant is part of many people’s daily routines, but choosing from the many products available isn’t always easy, especially when trying to find options that are safe for you and your family.
Some deodorants contain ingredients that raise concerns for human health, like aluminium salts, which is why it’s worth taking a closer look at what you’re applying to your skin every day.
To help you choose with confidence, we’ve selected 10 deodorants with top ratings on Yuka.

Like all our rankings, this one was conducted completely independently, and no brand has paid to be included.
Why are they so expensive??wait this is Australia why are we happy to get ripped off with everything??
I switched to No Pong a couple of years ago and it has been great. I just wanted to mention for folks commenting on the price of these products, my little can of No Pong lasts about 4 times longer than a spray can used to last me. I definitely feel like it works out to be less cost overall, but best of all, for me personally, I feel a lot better about home much less packing I am producing 🙂
So where can you buy these brands?
I use the moogoo product and LOVE it.
I use REDWIN,aluminium free, and I have Atopic Eczema, and it seems to be ok. But doesn’t rate very well??
Thank you love your app
Great to know. Thanks
Great information. Thanks.
Love the app
Hardy to know
Awesome thanks for this information. Would be great to learn about all products
Thank you for all that you are doing to help us navigate the confusing world of who is telling the truth.
I am always telling friends and colleagues to check out the app and rest as you do your shopping, they have you covered.
Love seeing these clean, high-rated deodorants — it’s great that Yuka highlights truly better options for health-conscious users. However, the prices (averaging ~$25 per 100ml/g) put them out of reach for many everyday Australians, especially with the cost of living. Could future rankings include more affordable supermarket/chemist options that still score well (even if not 90+), or a budget-friendly filter? Many of us want to make healthier swaps but need realistic prices. Thanks for the helpful guide!”
Have you tried Asuvi? My whole family use it and love it
I have tryed most of those deoderants and there is something in eaach one that my skin doesnt like I either burn under my arms or have a rash there sre some matural things people cant use but thank you for the up date I do use Yuka to look at a lot of things but just not this for me
Thank you for this I am always struggling with deodrants.
Yuka has changed the way I shop.
It’s the best instant guide to the quality of goods I normally buy and improved the quality of goods that I buy now. Thank you
I’ve been trialing Kissing Chickens. An Australian company with natural deodorants. How do they rate?
I use No Pong. Great product,I am going to try Moogoo because their products are so good! Thanks to Yuka, it helps me make healthy and sustainable decisions.
No Pong works for me, love it.
Moogoo is the only deodorant that I can use it’s great.
‘Black Chicken’ has been my choice for years now. Original is a paste, with sensitive option & recently a liquid spray, also available in a refill bag. Not fond of either Wild or No pong – both expensive for their limited performance. But I’ll give Moo Goo a go tho!
Very good thank you.
👍
It’s great to see independent surveys of the important things we have to purchase daily..
Well done.
These are great choices but have you heard of the Crystal body deodorant? I’ve heard its the most natural.
I have been using the no pong deodorant which I’m liking a lot.
I will be trying some of others .
Thank you . I love this app
Thanks for that info. We do use the No Pong deodorant and find it excellent.
Yuka rates DOVE Whole Body Deo Raspberry and Rose as 79/100 Excellent. It is $16 at Chemist Warehouse and Coles but sometimes they have it at half price for $8
Thank you Julie , I will be changing my deodorant for one of these products
No pong is $31.43 100g not $22.71
Thanks Julie,
Very informative and helpful.
Thanks for pointing out the price is for 100mls or 100g, I was worried No Pong had gone up by $10.
Noosa Basics my favourite scent Lemon Myrtle. Less expensive in Australia.
I absolutely love this deodorant.
No rash or allergies.
I only need a small amount & spread around my armpit with fingers each morning.
Armpits smell great all day.
MooGoo is a great product, good information, thank you
Thankyou for confirming I’m using the right deodorant. Love my MooGoo.
Above my means sorry
Thank you, I’ll be finding
Love MooGoo deodorant. I alternate between the stick variety and the roll on version.
Yep, totally agree! Love my Moo Goo have been using for about a year now!!
It’s all well and good but can we have ok ones that don’t hurt the hip pocket
I’ve just discovered the best deodorant , which you haven’t mentioned.
It’s a lemon stick deodorant – Ecco by Sonya.
It lives up to its 5 star recommendation. And I’m
Pretty sure it’s free of nasties. You might like to check it out.
This is great to know, I’ve been using No Pong for the last 12 months but it’s good to know the other options available
I’ve had no stains with No Pong it does the job
Can I ask you if you can still buy Wild deodorant in Cole’s
I love the blue woo hoo! the no pong stains your clothes with coconut oil, I’m surprised to see them that high up tbh
Hi Chels,
Thanks for sharing your experience! 😊
Our ratings are based exclusively on the safety of a product’s ingredients and do not take into account factors such as texture, staining, effectiveness, scent, or other aspects of the user experience.
That’s why it’s always helpful to read comments from other users who can share their personal experiences with a product 🥕
Love No Pong. Have been using it for years. All my sons now use it too and won’t use anything else.
Really appreciate. Thankyou.
I have used Moo Goo also No Pong they are both excellent products.
Love the Yuka app
That’s awesome 👌
Very important 👏
I use Frank & Bare & it is 100/100
yuka got taken over or submitted to the controlling powers – many of their listings of food now deem UNSAFE as safe and vice-versa
Hi John,
Thanks for your feedback.
Could you please send us a few specific examples at team@yuka.io? We’d be happy to take a closer look at the products you’re referring to and understand your concerns in more detail.
In the meantime, please rest assured that Yuka remains completely independent. We do not accept payments from brands to influence product ratings, and our evaluations continue to be based on our published methodology and scientific review process.
We look forward to hearing from you 🥕
You can see why people are choosing other deodorants, the prices on these are astronomical
The prices listed are per 100gr! It’s not the price of the deodorant. Pretty sure No Pong is around $10-12 and it lasts for months. Not expensive at all
Hi Leonie,
Thanks for your feedback!
If you’d like to see the prices of the actual product and not by 100 g or 100 ml, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Email us at team@yuka.io 🥕
Very helpful, Thank you very much.
I’ve started using Lavalin it is great too, will scan next time I purchase to see the score
I use another Moo Goo product that is Aluminium Free.
Its excellent.
Thank you
Thank you. Really Helpful
I already use Moogoo deodorants and have found them to be excellent
Have been using No Pong since it first came on the market.
I already use No Pong but there are a couple there I would be interested in trying
Great idea, but not sure why is 5 times the price of roll on deodorants at the supermarket
Thank you, great information.
That is great, saves me from having to stand in a supermarket aisle scanning the deodorants individually and they would not all be available at the same store.
Thank you
You left out the best one: https://www.milkmanaustralia.com/products/natural-deodorant
Thank ypu
Thanks for this helpful information. I have bought the US brand Toms thinking it’s a good alternative??? Would love your rating here.
I’ve been using Woohoo’s Deodorant & Anti-Chafe Sticks (Surf, Urban and Tux) for a couple of years now. The smooth formula glides on effortlessly and is non-irritating and their plastic-free packaging sticks keep fingers clean unlike the older pot-style pastes. Great product!
I’m wondering why you haven’t listed any of the crystal deodorants, which are both cheaper & clean. Some crystal deodorants contain aluminium but many don’t.
Love your summary on deodorants makes my choices easy!! Pls summarise other products ie body moisturisers etc.
Have been using No Pong for years……now im finding im getting a rash.
I love No Pong, its a great product 👌
You missed Black Chicken Remedies I’ve been using it for 15 years it’s amazing https://blackchicken.com.au/products/axilla-deodorant-paste-original
Thank you very much for this deodorant information. I have used only Mum for 50 years but would like to try your suggestion
can get no pong at coles a lot cheaper
Hi there which store I can find them for men and women
Thank you for sharing.
I have been using. No pong for years it’s great
I use Moogoo – it’s excellent and great for my skin and hay fever.
I have also used NoPong but when in cold weather it is difficult to use – gets too hard
I am allergic to majority of deodorants and get a terrible rash. I use Moogoo and have no reactions and I never stink. Saved me
Thank you so much. I use MOOGOO hair products thanks to you so I will now use their deodorant.
You’re the best!
Thank you, we are already using No Pong which we are finding quite effective and originally chose it because it was said to be safe and your investigation of it is reassuring. i use your Yuka app constantly when grocery shopping and really appreciate it. The only thing we miss, because we eat gluten free, is that it doesn’t show if there is gluten in the product. However we do appreciate being shown what products have additives to avoid, in which case we put the product back on the shelf and keep checking for what is safe using your app, so thank you, much appreciated.
Do love my MooGoo deodorant.😊
Very much appreciate the information you have sared regarding deodorants
I like no pong.
Thanks for your information it is always well received.
Did you check Black Chickens Axilla deodorant paste? I’ve been using it for a couple of years and it’s great.
Can you review Asuvi please?
After getting the “Yaka app” we scan everything. Ingredients in deodorants was an eye opener! We are now using “No pong” which works and is easy to find. Another eye opener are Sunscreens!
Yes, in Australia the cancer council ones are the worst.
I use NO PONG,
I have tried No Pong and Myaura. Not sure how they get such good ratings as they do not work.
I thought the same
It would also be useful to know what brands are Australian owned and especially Australian manufactured
Noosa Basics and Moogoo are definitely Australian 👌
KIND-LY is Australian made and owned and what I have used for years 👏
I was getting a rash from Nivea rollon and wanted to move away from Aluminium based rollons so I tried No Pong and it doesn’t stop sweating unfortunately. So you eventually end up smelly and sweaty halfway through the day. I then tried Dermal in the spray and the rollon which I prefer. It stings a tiny bit due to the salts if your pores are open but it actually controls sweat. You stay dry and odour free with Dermal and no cakey mess on you clothes like most of the other formulas that have oils or waxes or starches.
Thank you for this. I often worry about the deodorant I am wearing.
Please keep up the good work 🎉
Is this based on effectiveness or just on ingredients? Cause some of these don’t work great, but are highly rated.
Love the app so much, thank you!
I use the roll on version of the Noosa Basics in a couple of different scents and love them – they are the only ones I’ve found that work for me and the normal price for them is $14.99. Sometimes they go on sale and I buy a couple.
Sadly, I can scan most products on the supermarket shelves and get very bad results/ingredients every time so I stay clear.
many thanks for your advice.
Thank you. I’ll certainly be changing to a new deodorant.
A Bit Hippy is fantastic. At last a deodorant that does not irritate me. It is Australian by the Moo Goo company. Also their hair shampoo and conditioner are wonderful. So happy. 🤗
Thank you so much 🦚🏡
I use coconut oil x
I appreciate the suggestions. Apart from the no pong, which I have tried but felt it left some staining on my shirts, the rest appear to have perfumes. I am interested in a good No perfume at all one. My wife is super allergic to any scents, chemical smells and such.
Aren’t the salt stick deodorants the best ones.
That’s all well & good if you’ve got $20 to $30 on deodorant which is not really applicable to every day Australians considering the high cost of living. How about running the ruler over deodorants on our supermarket shelves.. that would gain my interest. Just saying 😌
Appreciate your recommendations and use your app but we’ve tried some of these deodorants & they’re not so effective. No Pong was most effective for me but can’t get others in the family to use a paste 🫠
I tried at least 3 of them and they don’t work. You still sweat and stink a lot, almost no difference, just the smell is slightly mixed with a deodorant scent. Is there any that actually works?
Hi ,,,
I’ve been using a deodorant crystal that says Alum is one of the ingredients.
Is this short for Aluminium Salts and is this deodorant harmful?
These are great and I love the app but with the way things are at the current time it’s hard to find $20-$30 for a deodorant. Is there no other affordable alternatives
Very expensive for a pensioner
Living in Australia, what about everyday brands sold here in our supe4markets, ie- Cole’s, Woolworth, IGA & Aldi.
In Adelaide at NQR, they are currently selling MyAura watermelon for $2
No Pong is sold in supermarkets in Australia
Try No Pong at Coles
KIND-LY is sold at Chemist Warehouse
Which one rates best for perspiration please ?
Is there a way to clarify in the app if the deodorant is cruelty free? This determines my purchase also.
Justin try the fussy vegan app (Australia)
All too expensive for me. It would be advantageous to read results from “everyday” reasonably priced deodorants to see where the normal person selections are placed.
What about the Sikapura crystal?
That’s is so helpful
Are you aware of Kissing Chickens deodorant? I’ve found them to be amazing 😊
Very helpful information.
Great information, but so expensive.
Thank you for your findings and report.
I have used MooGoo Lemon Myrtle previously and it smells like wet dog, haha nothing like lemon Myrtle! We love all other MooGoo products though!
Highly recommend Dr Organics Lavender which your app rates at 94%
Most other deodorants tried have left me with either raw irritated armpits, stinky armpits after a few hours and / or yellow, sticky residue on clothing 🙁
Can no longer use No Pong, Noosa Basics, Axilla for reasons above. Maybe scientific findings on ingredients AND user feedback too, so many natural ingredients deodorants would not be for long term use…and of course they’re more expensive to “buy and try.”
Love your app, use it all the time!! 💕
Look up Kissing Chickens, created by two Queensland nurses, I had similar issues with No Pong as you described, kissing chickens has been a great find
We love yuka it’s helped us in shopping and we use moogoo in toothpaste, shampoo, hair conditioner, underarm deodorant lotion for your skin thank you Ted
Thank you for helping me make an informed choice
Amazing!
You can usually find these cheaper as well 🙂 my WILD was on sale for $12 at Cole’s
Its okay that these products maybe listed as the top 10 but they don’t wok!!!? Or create an allergy plus don’t work!!?
Please please can we test the body odour smell factor too!
Love this site and use all the time when grocery shopping but deodorants not so easy to choose a “safe” product that actually works. eg No Pong should be called No way No Pong 😂
I use no pong..it works really well.
One product you should add to this list is TOTEM ECO. I purchased one of their natural deodorants after trying many in the past and it is the best one.
So expensive! Why do they cost so much ? OMG
So expensive!
great work!
So so helpful. I love the Yuka app and use it daily. Thank you for all your information.
Only $23.30 for 2 x 60ml Moogoo on eBay! Many thanks
Thank you this is so great because I have been looking at safe deodorants
What about Thankyou?
This is great information. Luckily I don’t need to use these products anymore but I used to use No Pong which was very good.
Thanks for the information don’t know how I would ever live without the YUKA app that’s my main tool for eating healthy 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the latest update , l always value your research, l feel much healthier and happier knowing that l’m using or consuming less harmful products and ingredients.
Woohoo is the only natural deodorant that has worked for me, most of the others gave me a rash. The Wild deodorant is exceptionally overpriced for what you get and the roll on version is dreadful, the packaging is appalling for a deodorant at this price
so expensive!
Unfortunately all quite expensive but thanks for the info
Hi it would be really good if you could review deodorant that the everyday person can afford. Who buys $ 37 deodorant?
They look very promising where can I buy them from.
This is great. Next time please provide recommendations by price range. It would be good to have something under under 10 Australian dollars
I would not recommend Lemon Myrtle Deodorant – Noosa Basics. It is very hard and thus rough on the skin.
Thanks for this , that gives me a few more to try. . I used woohoo for several years – amazing product but my pits got use to it . No on. no pong , also good. till I get suet it then I can try one of these the you have recommended . Need something to get me through 2 hrs of sweaty gym !
This is a wonderful idea, it saves on time when searching for good products
Thanks for the info, love your articles
There’s a brand called fussy that I discovered. From the UK but now selling at coles and it’s excellent. The best natural deodorant I’ve used that actually works.
Agree! Fussy is excellent, really pleased to see them now stocked at Coles 🙂
fussy at coles?
Thank you for the information
I use Redwin Sensitive Skin
Anit-perspirant Deoderant with Chamomile
Aluminium free. ~$10 for 150ml
Been using this for years.
Me too.
Thank you so much, Yuka is absolutely brilliant, fabulous information.
Thank you for this info, very helpful,
Ive been using the Moogoo deodorant and have found it and indeed all there products to be very safe and very effective. 5 gold stars. Its about time our Govt. followed suit and rewarded these companies, and not allowed the ones using so many lethal toxins.
Which ones are Australian made?
I know moogoo and woohoo are aussie
Not on the list, but Kissing Chickens is Australian made and created by two Queensland nurses, I’ve found them to be amazing
I use Eco by Sonya Lemongrass stick, has great rating and works a treat. Wish it was in a cardboard container though.
Brilliant stuff
Thank you
Very interesting. Thank you 🙏
Love all moogoo products
I scanned no pong at my last shopping and told my self to try it and after 3 days the product I was using went into the bin . The price is up there Aprox $ 11
But it seems to be lasting a while .
Love this, It is very hard to find non toxic deordorants, so this is much appreicated.
I recently found this brand called Fussy that i think is pretty safe, however im not certain there scents are phalate etc free. Curious to know what you think
I’ve tried lots of natural deodorants. Some don’t stop odour or only work for a while. Then I tried No Pong and found it very effective. I’ve been using it for a few years and also love that it’s available in the supermarket.
I have been using No Pong bicarb free for years. It’s the only deodorant that I have found to work. $11 from supermarket, cheaper direct (plus postage)
All too expensive for me because I’m a 70yr old woman pensioner.
Thank you for the information. It is most helpful. What about toothpaste please in a review?
Thanks for your suggestion I actually use Kindly
Kind regards Desma
I have been using the Myaura deodorants for some time and really like them, but they seem to have disappeared from the market. Not sure if they’re still in business. Their facebook page seems to indicate they’re MIA
I am also using Myaura deodorant and I can’t find it anywhere any more, very interesting that it’s disappeared from all shop shelves
I’ve been using no pong for ages. And especially the low bicarb or no bicarb. Brilliant product.
Love this review. Hope you continue with other items. 🙏💛
Some of these are great but unfortunately No Pong had soy bean oil which is an allergy for me.
Thankyou ! Would love a review on toothpaste ❤️
Sensational 😊
Love your work guys 🤗
Thank you so much for the information. It is very valuable.
You didn’t test the natural crystal deodorants which is 100% chemical free. It is not an antiperspirant but perspiring is good for you. We have been using them for over 10 years.
THANK YOU. I very much like the app and the information provided. I find it so helpful.
What about kissing chickens deodorant?
Thanks for the research. Would Moo Goo Fresh Cream Deodorant Lemon Myrtle rate the same? I’ve been looking for something cleaner to try.
Are any of these sprays please?
Use the app frequently. And have recommended it to others.
Moogoo lemon myrtle is 100/100 I use this and also have tried no pong it also a great product but I prefer roll a roll on.
I’m using MYAURA Watermelon at the moment and love it. Very glad that one of my friends told me about the Yuka app. I have recommended it to a lot of people. Even tell strangers at the shops about the app, when they are looking at products and they usually thank me for sharing it. Do all my shopping with the Yuka app.
I’m a Moogoo convert! 🙏
I use Vico deodorant. Packaging and ingredients all natural and biodegradable with many yummy scents. You cannot beat them.
I love the Noosa Basics roll on but unfortunately it doesn’t roll easily. I’ve had to take 2 bottles back as they won’t roll … too stiff.
Hi, I have found that too, some scents oddly are better than others. I’ve had no issues with the lemon Myrtle but the blue one which I love the smell I’ve also returned before.
All my family have had a reaction to No Pong, which is disappointing as we really like it and we have tried different ones.
Thank you
How is the rating done? Can you talk a little about that Yuka? Cheers
MooGoo is excellent and even better when Chemist Warehouse has it for half price so I buy 2.
MooGoo IS JUST AWESOME…..
ALL THEIR PRODUCTS ARE AMAZING!!!!!
Were the winners picked for their ingredients alone or performance as well?
Unfortunately there is nothing even remotely affordable
Are any of these sprays please?
Use the app frequently. And have recommended it to others.
