TOP 10 Deodorants

Your deodorant is often one of the first products put to the test during long days and busy routines.

Daily activities can quickly lead to odor and discomfort. A good deodorant does more than mask smells: it helps keep you feeling fresh while being gentle on your skin.

But ingredient quality really matters, especially for products you use every day. Some deodorants contain aluminum salts or concerning ingredients like BHT. And because deodorant is applied directly to a sensitive area like the underarms, it’s worth paying close attention to what’s in it.

To make things easier, we’ve rounded up the top 10 deodorants on Yuka. These solid stick formulas are all free from high-risk ingredients, so you can stay fresh with confidence.

The prices of the deodorants are ridiculous. I found a bottle of Burt’s Bees spray deodorant in my Mother’s medicine chest and decided to use it (it is old and the product has been discontinued). OMG, it has worked out great for me! For less than $30, I purchased the ingredients to make it myself and will have deodorant to last me for years. Lavendin oil, sage oil, lemon oil, purified water (don’t have access to SD Alcohol 40 so used Witch Hazel instead) and a drop of lemongrass oil. Found the recipe online. It works great! I have NO BO and it has such a refreshing, yet mild, aroma. Will never purchase deodorants again!

I get that deodorants are better for you than anti-perspirants and all that aluminum. What would be valuable is a comparison of major brands, unless you’re data shows them all the same? Old Spice, Dove, Gillette, Arm & Hammer, etc.?

I’ve tried several healthy deodorants and I’m sad to say, none of them worked for me at all!
I finally abandoned them and picked one that lasts for up to 72 hours.
I’m so old I don’t care if it knocks some time off my lifespan.
I’m just not going to put up with smelly armpits!

My adult daughter and I both tried the Native brand about 3-4 years ago. After a few months, we both realized It was causing a terrible smell on our clothing. Took several washes to get the smell out. I would’ve thought it was something in my chemistry but because my daughter experienced it too, I would imagine others have as well. Not sure which ingredient caused it. I now use Curie and love it

I wish that price would be considered, too, as well as lesser-known brands. Dr. Teal’s makes an excellent deodorant that, with its magnesium content, also functions as an antiperspirant. It is less than $5, so many stores don’t carry it. I have tried just about everything out there, and this brand works better for me than even antiperspirants with aluminum did. Legally, deodorants cannot call themselves antiperspirants if they don’t contain aluminum, but folks, magnesium is an effective–and safe– antiperspirant! Dr. Teal’s used to be difficult to spread, but a few years back they reformulated it so that it now glides more easily.

Just so you know-Native was bought by Proctor and Gamble and Tom’s of Maine is owned by Colgate-Palmolive. I’m really trying to buy from the smaller USA companies. Yes, they can be more expensive but you pick and choose. I’m tired of huge corporations adding all manner of toxic crap in our food and products. I think I’m doing good, reading labels, minimal processed , etc. and BOOM there is that “natural flavors” listed in the fine print ingredients. Could be anything they deem edible. Emailing doesn’t get a straight answer, I tried!

Antiperspirants seal in toxins, it takes a while for the toxins to come out when you stop clogging up your sweat glands, like the same goes. It gets worse before it gets better so worth the effort good luck.
