TOP 10 Deodorants

Your deodorant is often one of the first products put to the test during long days and busy routines.

Daily activities can quickly lead to odor and discomfort. A good deodorant does more than mask smells: it helps keep you feeling fresh while being gentle on your skin.

But ingredient quality really matters, especially for products you use every day. Some deodorants contain aluminum salts or concerning ingredients like BHT. And because deodorant is applied directly to a sensitive area like the underarms, it’s worth paying close attention to what’s in it.

To make things easier, we’ve rounded up the top 10 deodorants on Yuka. These solid stick formulas are all free from high-risk ingredients, so you can stay fresh with confidence.

I’ve been using NATIVE for as long as I they have been in business. I find it hard to give up since they have a plastic-free container on some of their deodorants.
I’ve found a scent (well probably 10 years ago) that I love. Pricing is way more expensive than it used to be but plastic is forever.

I was positive that I would see Lume on the list but surprised when I didn’t. Once I learned about the risks of aluminum based deodorants I switched to Lume. I also tried Native, Dove, and Secret Whole Body deodorants but did not like the texture of those brands.
Naturally I ran to the Yuka app to scan my Lume deodorant and its rating is Excellent 86/100 with 2 low risk ingredients. One of those low risk ingredients being fragrance 🤷‍♀️ Close call but I’m happy to see Lume’s rating is excellent and I don’t need to switch to another brand now 😮‍💨

I love Yuka and greatly appreciate your independent reviews. The app helps me choose products that are better for my health and have a smaller environmental footprint.

One important practical criterion I would love to see included in future deodorant comparisons is whether the product leaves white marks or lasting stains on clothing. Alongside ingredient quality, effectiveness and environmental impact, this is a key consideration for me when choosing a deodorant. It would therefore be very helpful to know which products perform well in this respect.

Interesting post, but why in the world would anyone use an unscented deodorant. Kind of defeats the purpose.
I currently use Dr. Squatch, bourbon barrel. Which is really nice. But honestly when going for a run or doing heavy outside activities, I still use Degree because of sweating.

Deodorant is meant to block your bad body odor, not make you smell like a teenager or old man. I got sick of all the scented sticks years ago and have been using Arm & Hammer unscented with great results. Also, deodorants with anti-perspirent, like Degree, have been directly linked to Alzheimer’s…

      Hi Michael.
As a woman the scented deodorant can clash with any perfume or body lotion scent. For me, the idea of a deodorant is to cut out any odor not cover it up with a scented deodorant, but thats just me

    What a wonderful list! 🌿
It’s encouraging to see so many deodorant options that focus on simpler ingredients, sensitive-skin-friendly formulas, and plant-based alternatives. For many people, finding products made with ingredients they recognize and feel comfortable using can make personal care choices much easier.
I especially like that several of these options are unscented or fragrance-free, giving people who have sensitive skin or fragrance sensitivities more choices without sacrificing effectiveness. The variety of scents in the other products also means there’s something for everyone—from subtle coconut notes to woodsy and herbal blends.
Rather than automatically choosing products because of flashy TV commercials or marketing campaigns, lists like this give us an opportunity to explore alternatives and make informed decisions based on ingredients, performance, and personal preferences. It’s always refreshing to see independent rankings that aren’t influenced by brand sponsorships.
Thank you for sharing this excellent selection. It’s a great reminder that there are plenty of quality products available today for people looking for gentler, plant-based, fragrance-free, or cruelty-free deodorant options. 😊
